It is believed to be the place where Goddess Sita, from the Indian epic Ramayana, spent some days of her separation here. Sitabani is surrounded by local villages, giving visitors a chance to experience the traditional lifestyle and culture of the region.

Major tourism attraction in this place is historical forest rest houses that was built in 1940 and the ancient Sitabani Temple. Advance booking or permit are not required to visit this zone.
